Our Little Family
Tim and I were so fortunate to have our good friend Kris of Images by Kris take some photos of us and our kids (cats). Our little grey and white cat Hazel, who is only 5 years old, was recently diagnosed with cancer. I first found a lump in her belly, which we found out was a lump in her spleen that grew rapidly over about 2 weeks and she had to have an emergency splenectomy. She recovered well after surgery, but then to our dismay, they found out that the lump was cancer. This has all gone down in the last 2 months, which has also been my busy season for weddings and family photos, so life has been challenging; not that there is a good time for illness to enter ones life. But Hazel is currently in good spirits and is still acting normal and always just wants to play, even though she now has a swollen lymph node in her neck and one under her eyelid that is causing a lot of redness in the corner of her eye and making her eye watery. We are going the Holistic route for care for her since chemo is extremely expensive and doesn’t always work and can cause her more stress and illness.
I love this little girl and I can’t imagine life with out her, she’s just the sweetest little imp of a cat, but she’s a fighter! We are so, so grateful to have these beautiful photos and to have Kris as our friend! Thank you, we will cherish these forever!
