A Minneapolis Backyard Wedding - Erika & Hollis
I have known Erika and her mother Maria for many years. We used to be servers at a wedding venue together when I was just starting to get into wedding photography. So I was so honored when Erika told me that she knew she wanted me to be her wedding photographer since she was 17! Erika has so much heart and she is not afraid to show it and share with anyone near her. She is fearless and brave and willing to do the right thing no matter what the cost. I believe that this is what made Hollis fall in love with her while they were still in high school. Along with her beauty and contagious smile of course!
Bringing the community together is very important to both Erika & Hollis so they knew that they wanted to have their wedding in Erika’s parents backyard and alley. Her parents thought she was crazy, but with help from her friends and neighbors, and the fact that Maria already had a beautiful yard full of flowers, they made it happen. It was sweet and caring, just like Erika and Hollis and the father/daughter dance was the most rockin’est father/daughter dance I have ever seen! Make sure you play “Burnin’ Down the House” by David Byrne in your head as you view their dance photos!
