Hill Top Wisconsin Wedding - Vanessa & Chloe
“What greater thing is there for two human souls, than to feel that they are joined for life–to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent memories at the moment of the last parting?” George Eliot
To photograph a friends wedding is truly a special moment because I have been able to watch them work towards their dreams and the hurtles that they sometimes encounter. Vanessa is a dear friend of mine and it has been so wonderful to see how she has really grown into herself over the past few years. Chloe and Vanessa are like two beautiful characters out of a classic novel. Even their names look and sound pretty together. Chloe is a postdoc in environmental governance and management and Vanessa is on her way to Harvard to study law. They were married over Pride weekend on a perfect, sunny day under a giant 125 + year Catalpa tree with quotes by George Eliot and Rilke, Ross Gay and Naomi Shihab Nye. Shortly after, a sudden, torrential downpour hit and everyone had to take cover under the canopy, but it was all worth it, because afterwards they got their own double rainbow!
