A Poetic Space
It’s finally time for another edition of “A Minnesota Kind of Space”. Except for this place is in Indiana… so I’m changing the name of this blog series to “A Poetic Space”. As I was editing these photos, I was thinking back to the photo work that I was doing in grad school (which was also of people in spaces) and some of the books I was reading. One of the books was “The Poetics of Space” by Gaston Bachelard, hence the name, A Poetic Space. It can be a bit heavy at times, but there are many beautiful moments in the book that I was influenced by and quoted in my thesis paper. One of these quotes is:
“For our house is our corner of the world. As has often been said, it is our first universe, a real cosmos in every sense of the word. If we look at it intimately, the humblest dwelling has beauty.” Gaston Bachelard
Now, I take you to the dwelling of Sarah Jane and Wes and their 3 beautiful children, Cash, Story and Leeland in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
